The fans of Cyberpunk 2077 and the critically acclaimed anime adaptation are pretty hyped right now. CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger have officially announced the Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 first look reveal during the upcoming Anime Expo 2026 on July 3, 2026.
In this upcoming presentation, fans will see the key members of the creative team behind this project. It also includes the director Kai Ikarashi, showrunner Bartosz Sztybor, executive producer Saya Elder, and other special guests.
Brand new story set in Night City
The original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was released on Netflix in September 2022 and became an instant hit among fans. Unlike the first season, Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 is going to feature a standalone story.
This new series will once again take place in the dangerous and futuristic world of Night City. Fans can expect a fresh new cast and characters with a brand new narrative.
This new sequel is also confirmed to have 10 episodes, which will match the format of the original anime.
For now, the details about the plot are still under wraps, but the showrunner Bartosz Sztybor has already teased a darker and more emotional journey.
