Disney is expanding the Kingdom Hearts universe beyond the games. Along with the new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, they also revealed a brand-new Kingdom Hearts anime series that will stream on Disney+.

Tetsuya Nomura confirms his role in the Kingdom Hearts anime
In a recent message shared by Kingdom Hearts official social media accounts, the original creator has confirmed that he has been working closely with the anime production team.
According to Nomura, he has already collaborated with the scenario writers throughout the development. Nomura is also involved with the members of the gameâs art team.
Also, the production team has created multiple original characters for the upcoming anime series. Sadly, Nomura has not revealed any plot details, but he has assured the fans that the creative team is working very hard to deliver an authentic Kingdom Hearts experience.
Original story expanding the universe
Rather than telling the same old story, the upcoming anime series will feature an entirely original storyline. The original creator has also hinted that the released promotional cover artwork contains some hints and clues.
The addition of exclusive characters also indicates that the anime may delve into new areas, battles, or timelines of the Kingdom Hearts universe that have not been explored before, potentially introducing new storylines and content beyond the main game series.
