Kingdom Hearts 4 release date confirmed & new trailer reveals Coco World & Modern Tokyo

Releasing in late 2027
Square Enix has now finally confirmed the release window for Kingdom Hearts 4, which is late 2027. During the latest D23 2026 presentation, the developers revealed the new trailer & announced that players will be able to experience Sora’s adventure in late 2027.
This game is all set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam, Epic Game Store and Xbox App.
Release window confirmed for Kingdom Hearts 4
It is now officially confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 will launch in late 2027. For now, Disney or Square Enix has not revealed the exact release date for the game. You can expect this reveal next year.
The game will release simultaneously on the current gaming consoles and PC.
Coco joins KH4
Pixar’s Coco was the newest addition in the new trailer. Players can experience the world of color and the iconic celebration of Día de los Muertos, seen for the first time in the award-winning 2017 animated movie. The trailer features Miguel performing “Un Poco Loco”, which will be one of the many Disney and Pixar worlds players will be able to explore in Coco.
Explore modern Tokyo
In the trailer, fans were also treated to the modern city environment. Sora’s adventure will take him to a realistic Tokyo-inspired location.
This city will also serve as one of the central locations in the story. Here he will meet new enemies and allies.
Confirmed returning characters
In the new trailer of Kingdom Hearts 4, we also saw many beloved characters including:
- Sora
- Donald Duck
- Goofy
- King Mickey
- Hades
These characters will accompany you throughout your adventure as the players will battle new threats across multiple Disney-inspired worlds.
Kingdom Hearts animated series was also announced!
Another surprise that Disney revealed was the announcement of the Kingdom Hearts animated series. This is currently in development for Disney+. For now, there is no release window and it might take some time before it makes its official reveal.
