Archery World Cup 2024 Shanghai Stage 1: Live streaming, TV channel, where and how to watch

The Archery World Cup 2024 circuit gets underway on Tuesday in Shanghai, China. Over 300 of the best archers from around the world, competing in recurve and compound categories, will take part in this four-stage circuit.

The Indian team is under a lot of pressure and will be closely watched. The Indian recurve archers must perform well at the World Cup to secure full team quotas (slots) for the Paris Olympics. They need to finish in the top three men’s teams or the top four women’s teams at the final qualification event in Antalya, Turkey in June. If they can’t do that, they must rank among the top two unqualified teams.

Spearheading India’s challenge is former world no 1 Deepika Kumari, returning from maternity leave. The three-time Olympian headlines the women’s recurve team alongside Bhajan Kaur, Ankita Bhakat and U18 world champion Komalika Bari. For the men, Dhiraj Bommadevara, India’s solitary Paris quota winner so far, is joined by the experienced trio of Tarundeep Rai, Pravin Jadhav and Mrinal Chauhan.

The recurve lineups double as the provisional Olympic squad, with performances in Shanghai and the next stage shaping final selections for Antalya.

In the compound, world champions Aditi Swami and Jyothi Vennam take centerstage for the women, while Abhishek Verma, Rajat Chauhan, Priyansh, and Prathamesh Fuge fly India’s flag in the men’s event.
