The Indian squad will have Asian Champions and Olympians competing in Archery World Cup Final 2024.

After three months of action-packed competition, the Archery World Cup Final 2024 will be getting underway soon. The grand finale will see this year’s top archers battle it out to be crowned the world champion. This season’s world cups were held in Shanghai, Yecheon and Antalya. The competition will now shift to Tlaxcala, Mexico.

The archers qualify for the final by securing podium finishes in either of the world cups, by winning medals in recurve competition in Paris Olympics and through world cup rankings.

The race for the finale began in April and went on till June. The elite eight from each of the four events will be featuring in the summit clash. India will have five of their best archers of this season participating in the event. In recurve archery, Deepika Kumari, Dhiraj Bommadevara will be the lone participants in women’s and men’s event respectively.

Meanwhile in compound archery, Jyothi Surekha Vennam will be the only one in the women’s event. In the men’s event, Priyansh and Prathamesh Fuge are present in the line-up. The men’s compound is the only event where India will see more than one archer participating in the season ending championship.

Kumari had won the silver in women’s recurve in Shanghai while Bommadevara won the bronze in the men’s competition. Priyansh secured silver in Shanghai and Antalya in men’s compound archery. He has been the only Indian to secure multiple podium finishes in the world cups this season.

Vennam on the other hand is the only Indian to clinch gold in this season’s world cup. She finished first in the women’s compound at Shanghai. The hopes are high this time as the Indian archers have been performing well especially in the crucial tournaments. While in team events they have been exceptional, the individual events have also witnessed landmark performances.

The top 32 archers of this season will be aiming for gold in four events. The recurve and compound will be the only events for men and women. India will seek podium finishes in all four events. The men’s compound event could provide a breakthrough for India as two athletes will be in the fray.

The 18th edition of the event will go on for three days as the archers will be well rested. The final preparations are on for the athletes who will go through intense battles when they represent their respective nations.

When and where will Archery World Cup Final 2024 take place?

The Archery World Cup Final 2024 will begin on October 18 as the events will start the next day and go on till October 21. The competition will take place at a temporary spectator stadium in the city of Tlaxcala, Mexico.
