If the move materializes, he will be following in the footsteps of another Juve legend, Alessandro Del Piero who played in the A-League earlier.

Italian World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo could be putting on his boots again, but this time for semi-professional Australian team Avondale FC. According to multiple reports, the former Juventus midfielder is in advanced talks with the Victorian League outfit for a one-off appearance.

Avondale are set to play Sydney FC in the FFA Cup quarterfinals and are allegedly very close to signing the former Milan star for the clash. The club finished their season in third place and sealed a place in the FFA Cup quarterfinals, after edging past Devonport 4-1 in the Round of 16. The outfit will also play in the National Premier League semi-finals after defeating Port Melbourne 3-1.

The clash against Sydney FC is set to take place on 19th September 2018, at the ABD Stadium and Pirlo's involvement could be a boost to the club's chances of winning the fixture. If the move materializes, he will be following in the footsteps of another Juve legend, Alessandro Del Piero, who played for Sydney FC two seasons earlier.
