We are fine but we have to improve- Carlos Queiroz ahead of Copa America 2019
Los Cafeteros are in group B of the Copa America along with Argentina, Qatar and Paraguay.
In the bid to prepare for the Copa America 2019, Colombia national football team played a friendly against Panama, winning the game three goals to nil. All the goals in the game came in the first half itself. It only took six minutes for the Tricolor left-back to open the scoring. And approximately half-an-hour later, Muriel doubled the lead for the hosts.
A penalty goal from Falcao at the cusp of the first half sealed the game in favour of Columbia. Talking about the gameplay, their head coach Carlos Queiroz conveyed his optimism about the team and how the squad is dwelling upon the tactics that they have been practising in training.
"We always have to improve, but I think it has been a solid exhibition, which was what I was looking for, with the aim of playing the players with a lot of determination, it has been a good job, we created many opportunities to score, more than 20 shots, we are fine, but we have to improve," the coach said.
"We had three training sessions together, but those who played had intelligence and came back inside the field to gain more confidence, the flyers supported the attack and were vital."
He continued, "Today we had 11 players in recovery, I saw what we worked on the field and that is what it is about, Cardona recovered and was projected."
In the coach's opinion, their major concern ahead of the Copa America campaign is the defence. He said, "Defending well does not mean having more defenses in the payroll, the work looks for that, that those who are able to respond in every situation".

James Rodriguez only played for the last 25 minutes and is been taken care of. The coach is cautious to play him and wants to keep him safe for the final showdown.
"We are working with great care, yesterday the medical team made an evaluation, this type of injuries must go day by day, these 25 minutes are part of their planning and its preparation, next week we intensify more, I am sure that against Peru it will be able to play at least 75 minutes during the game, we trust that it will be calm to play longer.
