The French international had his say on his teammate's possible move to Los Blancos.

Raphael Varane has labelled his fellow French compatriot, Kylian Mbappe, as "ambitious" amidst the growing speculation of his move to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain. The stopper has suggested that the striker’s ambitious nature will bring him heaps of success.

The 20-year-old recently fueled the rumours by suggesting that he may look for a new project away from his current employers. It is possible that the young forward could be on the lookout for a new challenge, after finishing the 2018-19 season as the top-scorer in Ligue 1 with 33 goals to his name, also winning the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award in the process.

Raphael Varane has since responded to the above-mentioned rumours by saying, "I don't want to talk about potential signings. I am focused on France. I have not talked to Kylian directly. We are focused on our preparation...so I won't talk about possible transfers. Kylian is very important for France. We count on him very much."

He further went on to add regarding Mbappe’s potential move to Real Madrid, "During a career, there are some steps we need to take growing up, that's natural. Kylian keeps learning and going forward, which he does very quickly. It's good that he is ambitious."

"He is self-confident, it's good. He always wants more. Things come naturally in a career. From experience, I know things progress season by season. It's never easy but it's good, and with France, he is always growing in confidence," the 26-year-old concluded.

Interestingly, Raphael Varane recently prolonged his stay at Real Madrid after the club had confirmed that the 2018 World Cup winner will stay at the club until 2022. The Spanish giants are on the lookout to get back to winning ways after enduring an extremely disappointing season.

Among the players linked to the Los Blancos, Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe hold the highest priority in the ongoing summer transfer window.

With reports suggesting Hazard's move from Chelsea almost completed, the manager, Zinedine Zidane, could now focus on landing Kylian Mbappe to further bolster his squad. Reports of Gareth Bale leaving the Madrid outfit further clears the way for a potential move for the French sensation.

Perhaps, Raphael Varane might do his bit in convincing his France teammate in joining him in the La Liga. Paul Pogba has also been linked to Real and that could potentially produce a core of French players under the French boss.
