The former Irish international will replace fellow Englishman Ashley Westwood after a few weeks in charge.
Things have not looked good for ATK this season. Starting from Robbie Keane's absence at the start of the season then Teddy Sheringham got sacked and now rumours suggest that Robbie is set to take the role of a player-coach for the reigning champions.
Robbie Keane is an extremely experienced player and individual, he has plied his trade in clubs like Tottenham Hotspurs, Liverpool and LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer. So as a leader he has done a decent job but this will be his first time as a coach which will surely be a challenge for the Irish talisman.
ATK, a club which has always been associated with the top of the table football has finally faced misery this season. After winning the Indian Super League 2 out of 3 times, the Kolkata based club never thought that a day like this will be waiting for them in future. Placed at 8th position on the league table, ATK have earned only 12 points from 13 games.

After Teddy Sheringham's departure, Ashley Westwood, the team director and former Bengaluru FC manager was selected as interim manager. Things have not changed even then, it seems like they are just a shadow of a team which played and won the league last season. So it will be an uphill task for Player-Coach Robbie Keane.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Although there is no concrete information about the change in role, then there is a massive possibility that the Irish talisman will take charge. Hope for a resurgence of the side under Keane is also very much possible and expected by the ATK fans' fraternity.
Keane is very experienced and he is the main man for ATK, but with added responsibility on and off the field, it remains to be seen that how the 37-year old cope up with all the pressure and whether he does a better job than his predecessors or not.
