EXCLUSIVE: Jamshedpur FC's backstage drama ends, Doutie staying after official apology

Sameegh Doutie started his ISL journey with ATK and was instrumental in the Kolkata side's victory last season. Shifting base to Jamshedpur, he hasn't been at his best.
New entrants into the revamped edition of Indian Super League, Jamshedpur FC, have had a terrible journey so far. Despite having a band of proven players at their armoury, the Steve Coppell-commanded side has scored only one goal from 5 matches and is floundering after their defeat against FC Pune City.
Adding to the woes of Jamshedpur FC, star winger Sameehg Doutie had shown displeasure against his gaffers decision to give him only a few minutes to play against Delhi. The player, reportedly, had gone from the camp after that game, checked into another hotel without the permission of the staff, and had informed his aversion against the coach to the teammates. He had also refused to rejoin the squad when the staffs contacted him and was furious.
However, Doutie, who returned back to the squad was not welcomed in the grandest fashion, quite understandably. Steve Coppell found him no more adaptable to the squad, citing the lack of professionalism. The coach also urged the team management to offload the South African playmaker in January, and it is reliably understood that the team management has sat by Coppell's side.
Taking a U-turn from the stories till now, Sameehg Doutie has sent the team management and coach an official and emotional written apology for his insensitive behaviour and wants to continue in the squad, Khel Now sources can confirm. Baljit Rihal, who is the agent of both the player and the manager is acting as the arbiter to iron out this problem and to bring back normalcy and order to the team.
My Mentor, I have so much respect for this man & his team , I am beyond grateful working under them & learning so much from them.???????? pic.twitter.com/JECzfxmpa5

Meanwhile, defending champions ATK, and a few other ISL clubs have shown interest in signing this athletic winger this January, but the call and the baton is still with Steve Coppell. It's still uncertain that whether the player would change his court, but if the management opt to offload him, we will see him plying his trade for another ISL outfit.

Jamshedpur FC will take on fellow new entrants Bengaluru FC in Thursday's night clash, and JFC's starting lineup against them could at least show how serious the problem is. If Coppell opts to deploy this lethal attacker in his today's line-up, it will stand as a symbol of harmony, and it will make the reticent flanks of JFC acute.

His return looks almost certain. The man has joined training, is giving interviews officially and looks set to make the cut. Answers are with Steve Coppell and Co and the game against Bengaluru FC and Doutie's name on the sheet could be one of the answers.
