Inigo Calderon had to intervene to separate the duo.
Mumbai City crushed any hopes Chennaiyin fans had of trying to win points at the Mumbai Football arena on Thursday evening. Although, the grim faces were visible, the hammering had left bigger dents on the Marina Machans' side than those visible to the naked eye, which speaks volumes of the fissures and cracks in the dressing room.
As Mumbai City ran havoc in Chennaiyin's half, a disturbing scene caught the eyes of spectators. The visitors' attacker Carlos Salom, started a fight with his teammate, Issac Vanmalsawma in what could be described as the most disturbing scene in the league so far this season.
Salom was considered among the top five players in the Thai league and is currently on loan from Bankog United. He is worth his weight in gold in terms of talent and fits in perfectly in an attack-minded Chennaiyin side. However, the Palestinian forward has not been content with his side and the incident on Thursday evening was evidence of the fact.
The appalling incident took place over the positioning of the Issac and a pass he apparently missed. But, this could have been ignored as an occasional mishap had it not escalated to pushing and yelling. In fact, Inigo Calderon had to intervene and separate the two and it took stern words from the Spaniard to separate them.

Minerva Punjab deny overage players accusations in statement
Chennaiyin FC head coach John Gregory was asked about the incident and he said, "Raphael Augusto was injured and down and Issac was doing what most of the players would do. He put the ball out of play and allowed Raphael to get up and Carlito was angry because we had the ball and maybe we should have continued to attack. "
After the heated moment between the two players, both lacked coordination and their performance on the field took a massive dip. Maybe these are the signs of the underlying cracks enhanced by continuous defeats and low confidence among the corp or just something to be ignored. But the way Anirudh Thapa was left behind by his team post the match speaks volume of how the team is dealing with the incessant losses that are coming their way.
