Seven Valladolid players accused of match fixing in LaLiga loss to Valencia
A tape conversation that has surfaced substantiates the claims.
In the wake of reports from Spain about the corruption and match-fixing done between the players of Valencia and Real Valladolid, a conversation taped between the now retired footballer Carlos Aranda and an anonymous person has been made public.
Seven players were bought to throw the game away intentionally against Valencia as reported by El Mundo. The conversation was intercepted by the police and has been made public by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo exclusively.
The conversation revealed has Aranda explaining the other person about the fixing and the outcomes of the game which was yet to play. Below are all the quotes of Carlos Aranda from the conversation.
"Seven players were bribed, no more."
"Bet 10,000 euros and you will win 20,000 euros."
"Look, mate, Valencia are winning the first half and the second, ok?" he said on the phone.
"Listen to me, they're winning the first and second half, ok?"
"So, they win the first half and the match as well; not that they win, that they have to score two goals in two halves, that they win the first and second..."
"Look, you know what it is, no one can know, but you know what it is. No one. No one means no one; no one, not your friends, not anyone."

The revelation confirms the match-fixing done in the game between Valencia and Real Valladolid by the players.
The officials of the two teams are not said to be a part of the wrong-doings and only the players are, some of whom are Carlos Arada, Borja Fernandez, Raul Bravos.
The game came under the scanner after Espejo Público programme on TV station Antena3 claimed that the authorities were monitoring Valencia’s final day 2-0 win at Real Valladolid.
The game which Valencia needed to win to qualify for the Champions League would have had no impact on Valladolid's season as they were already safe from relegation.
There have been reports of the investigation being done on two more games. Valencia’s 6-2 win at Huesca late in the season alongside a 2-1 win for Real Betis over Huesca are said to be the two games.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]The scrutiny was because of the suspicious manners in which the goals were scored and the ‘irregular betting patterns’ in and around all three of the games.
11 personals have been arrested including the Huesca president for that matter. Another game that has investigation confirmed over it is Gimnastic’s late 1-0 win at Huesca in La Liga late in the 2017-18 campaign, the game which also had no impact on Huesca's season as they had earned the promotion already.
