Mizoram Police climbs up the 2nd spot while Chhinga Veng FC go unbeaten in 22 game

Lalbiakhlua scores a brace to help Mizoram Police FC reach the 2nd spot as goals in the last quarter for Dinthar FC couldn't save them from a defeat in 10th round.

Mizoram Police FC continue their ascend to the top half of the table with a 3-2 victory over Ramhlun North FC courtesy of a double from Lalbiakhlua.

The last time the two teams met was in round 7 which marked the first match MPFC played under new coach Lalbiaksanga Colney. Coach Biaksanga has now won 10 points from a possible 12 going undefeated in 4 games.

Ramhlun North FC had the first half-chance of the game through V. Lalchhuanawma but Mizoram Police FC took advantage of their bright start and broke the deadlock with a goal from Lalbiakhlua on the 14th minute.

Ramhlun North FC retaliated minutes from hafltime after coming close on a couple of occasions through Rosangliana as he headed in a corner from Lalrinfela.

Mizoram Police produced a bright start in the second half enjoying possession and moving the ball swiftly against their opposition.

They grabbed the lead in the 79th minute when Biaktea grabbed his second of the afternoon from Lalfakzuala's delivery.

They added a third when Lalsangbera finished off a brilliant team move in the 87th minute.

There was time for late drama when Ramhlun North FC found the net on the 89th minute through Lalliansanga but there was little time left for Ramhlun North FC to try and find the winner.

Two goal hero Lalbiakhlua was named man of the match.

League leaders Chhinga Veng FC extended their lead at the top of the table after a thrilling 3-2 victory against Dinthar FC to put one foot into the semi-finals.

In a second half that bore a lot of drama, Dinthar FC almost pulled off an extraordinary comeback from two goals down but saw them reduced to 10 men late on.

Independence Day Cup and MFA Super Cup champions Chhinga Veng FC are yet to be defeated in all comeptitions this season. They showed the form that see them open up a 13 point lead after round 9 when they took the lead on the 10th minute. R. Malsawmtluanga producing a clinical finish.

Winger Laldampuia and R. Malsawmtluanga forced  Dinthar FC keeper Mala Hauhnar to make saves before Lalrammuanpuia double their lead in the dying minutes of the first half.

They took their tally to three 7 minutes into the second half with Laldampuia finding the net, all but ensuring three points for his team.

But Dinthar FC showed belief and took advantage of a lapse in concentration from CVFC's backline scoring two goals in four minutes through strikes from Lalbiakhlua and Samuel Laltlanthanga.

A late incident involving Chhinga Veng FC striker Malsawmfela and Dinthar FC midfielder Clarence Carter resulted in the sending off of the Dinthar FC midfielder after he lashed out at the CVFC striker.

Malsawmfela was also booked later on for his role in the incident while Chhinga Veng FC manager Sangzuala Hmar was forced off from the technical area after protesting against the decision.
