Nuno Espirito's side have put in excellent displays against the heavyweights of Premier League this season.

After winning hearts last season in the second-tier of English football, Wolverhampton Wanderers have won many others in what is turning out to be a rather impressive foray in the Premier League once again.

Wolves recently trumped Manchester United in the FA Cup, with a 2-1 victory. Nuno Espirito has built a feisty side that has put in sparkling displays against the heavyweights.

England and Arsenal legend Martin Keown recently stated, "People might have said beating Manchester United was an upset, but I didn’t think it was because if you look at the club’s results already this season – beating Spurs away, drawing with Arsenal, City and United, beating Liverpool and Chelsea at home – these are really good scalps that Wolves have taken, and they deserve respect."

Keown was part of a Gunners team that faced Wolves in the 1998 FA Cup semi-final, and the defender believes that the team is doing their history proud. Keown said, "Molineux has now got a team worthy of those who have played at this amazing stadium in the glory days. It’s been a long time in the making, Wolves are one of the forming members of the Football League, with all the successes the club has many years ago; no FA Cup win since the 60s, no major trophy since 1980, so fingers crossed they can do it this year."

Espirito's side next face Watford in the semi-final, who have been equally impressive this season.

According to the Wolves' official website, Keown told, "It’s been a remarkable first season in the Premier League, although they’ve got a team of players who are immensely talented and some of those, never mind the Championship, they could have played in the Champions League last season."

The side have had many stars this season, of the likes of Raul Jiminez, Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves amongst the others.

The former Arsenal skipper further went on to praise the club's recent transfer activities. He said, "Getting players from Atletico Madrid, Porto, Benfica, shows the type of level Wolves are aiming at and they’ve all been brilliant acquisitions."

He further quipped, "All that said and done, the manager still has to bring them all together and Nuno has done an amazing job here. The team are seventh in the league, in an FA Cup semi-final, so I don’t think the fans could’ve asked for more."

The winning mentality of this strong Wolves side has really stood out this season right from start of the season. This same mentality has bought them back to the Premier League. Keown said, "It’s one step at a time. Wolves’ Premier League status is well and truly secured and I just feel that the manager will really want to win things with this club."
