The 5-time Ballon d'Or winner joined Juventus in the last summer transfer window.

Following Juventus' shock Champions League exit in the quarterfinals against Ajax, midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo made some claims about the Bianconeri.

It has been a very average season for the Italian champions, as they have bowed out of the Coppa Italia following their premature exit from the UEFA Champions League against a young prodigious Ajax side.

Hence the former Juventus and AC Milan midfielder, Andrea Pirlo spoke to Sky Sports and pointed out that the midfield during his time was a lot better than it is currently.

"We were a great midfield, made of quality and quantity, which was the fulcrum of the whole team, together with a great defence. I have to say maybe we had those attackers, but it is part of the cycles, once you are better ahead, once more behind, it is difficult to have a complete team."

"I think Juve lacks quality in midfield, Pjanic is the only one with quality, they are good players but there is need for something, someone like Iniesta, and a more tested game structure."

Pirlo was also very critical about Paulo Dybala and his dip in form lately. Pirlo feels that Dybala's problem is psychological and it is not helping Juve or the Argentinian in any way.

"Dybala's value has decreased and that's not Juventus' fault", 'Il Maestro' said.

"I think the problem is psychological. When you have the chance to play with a striker like Cristiano Ronaldo you should be happy about playing with him, you should be happy to learn from such a great champion."

He also went on questioning Dybala's mentality in crunch games and also criticised his intensity this season for Juventus. Pirlo feels that the Argentinian forward needs to work hard and get back to the player he once used to be.

"Dybala needs to understand that he is playing for Juventus, not in a medium team. Everyone will try to help him but he is the one who must recharge batteries, he must become the same player that he used to be".

The 25-year old forward is out for 20 days due to physical problems as said by coach Massimiliano Allegri and will only return to feature in the last three games fixtures this season. He has had a tough time for the Bianconeri, bagging only five goals and four assists in the Serie A and as things pan out he certainly needs to reassess his situation at Turin.
