Parul Chaudhary and Annu Rani clinched historic gold medals.

India is making remarkable progress at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, with Day 10 proving to be a thrilling day for the nation. In the realm of athletics, Annu Rani and Parul Chaudhary secured historic gold medals for India in the women's javelin throw and women's 5000m events, respectively.

Tejaswin Shankar etched his name in history by not only breaking the national record but also clinching the men's decathlon silver, marking his debut Asian Games appearance with a well-deserved medal. Mohammed Afsal showcased his talent by securing the men's 800m silver, while Praveen Chitharavel, a national record holder in men's triple jump, contributed to the medal tally with a bronze. Vithya Ramraj displayed her prowess with a bronze in the women's 400m hurdles.

India's men's canoe double 1000m team, comprised of Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam, delivered a bronze medal, marking India's first canoe medal in nearly three decades. Lovlina Borgohain, a bronze medalist at Tokyo 2020, advanced to the women's 75kg gold medal bout, securing an Olympic quota for India in the category.

Additionally, boxers Preeti Pawar and Narender Berwal concluded their campaigns with well-deserved bronze medals.

In their debut appearance at the Asian Games, the Indian men's cricket team stormed into the semifinals with a thrilling 23-run victory over Nepal. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who notched his first T20I century, became the youngest T20I century-maker from India, leading the team to success. The women's kabaddi team secured a victory against the Republic of Korea, while the men's kabaddi team triumphed against neighbors Bangladesh in their opener.

Saurav Ghosal, along with the mixed doubles pairs Dipika Pallikal-Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu and Anahat Singh-Abhay Singh, assured squash medals for India. Moreover, PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy had successful starts in their badminton singles campaigns.

With an impressive haul of two gold, two silver, and five bronze medals on this remarkable day, India is now just one medal short of matching its record of 70 medals at the 2018 Asian Games. With assured medals in squash and boxing, India is well on its way to setting a new record in Hangzhou.
