The Asian Games 2026 are set to enter Day 7, with the continental showpiece continuing at full pace in Aichi-Nagoya. India will once again have athletes in action across multiple disciplines, with the contingent aiming to build on its medal haul and add further podium finishes.

India have so far secured 23 medals at the Games, with shooting emerging as the standout contributor. The sport has accounted for 10 medals, including the contingent’s second gold in the mixed team 10m air pistol event.
Shooting has also produced five silver and four bronze medals and will remain one of India’s key medal prospects as the competition progresses.

Meanwhile, athletics is the only other sport to have delivered multiple medals, with two silvers and three bronzes.
The remaining medals have come from women’s cricket (gold), weightlifting (silver), wushu (silver), badminton (bronze), mixed martial arts (bronze), rowing (bronze) and soft tennis (bronze), with each discipline contributing a medal.
Looking ahead to Day 7, India will have medal opportunities in canoe sprint, kabaddi and shooting, with athletes across all three disciplines aiming to add to the contingent’s growing tally. India is a strong favourite to win a gold in kabaddi, but will face intense competition from Iran.
