Pakistan concluded the Asian Games 2026 with 10 medals, finishing 29th on the medal table.
Pakistan finished the Asian Games 2026 with 10 medals — 2 silver and 8 bronze. That is a big step up from the 2022 Games in Hangzhou, where Pakistan was 31st with three medals (no gold, one silver, two bronze).
The haul is also the best since 2002, when Pakistan won 13, and it beats Guangzhou 2010 (eight medals), Incheon 2014 (five), Jakarta 2018 (four) and 2006 (four). Despite an improved medal tally, Pakistan could not end its long wait for a gold medal.
Squash

Squash gave Pakistan its biggest medal haul, with a silver and two bronzes. Noor Zaman and Mohammad Ashab Irfan both reached the men’s singles semi-finals and took bronze. Noor lost 0-3 to Malaysia’s Eain Yow Ng, and Irfan lost to India’s Abhay Singh.
In the men’s team event, Pakistan beat South Korea in the quarter-finals, which guaranteed a medal. In the semi-final against Hong Kong, Noor Zaman lost the opening rubber 3-1 to Tsz Kwan Lau, but Ashab Irfan and Nasir Iqbal won their respective matches to seal a 2-1 comeback victory.
Malaysia won the final 2-0, but Pakistan defended its silver from the previous edition.

Hockey
Pakistan’s men’s hockey team suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to India in the semi-final, despite mounting a remarkable comeback after trailing 3-0.
They recovered in the bronze medal match against South Korea. Korea led 3-1 after 25 minutes, but Pakistan scored three goals in the final quarter, including two from Rana Waheed in the 52nd and 54th minutes, to win 5-3.
Volleyball
The volleyball team ended a 64-year wait. After losing the semi-final to Iran, they beat China 3-0 in the bronze medal match.
It is Pakistan’s first volleyball medal since the bronze medal at Jakarta in 1962. Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan had also thrashed India in the quarter-finals.
Cricket
After failing to win a cricket medal at the Hangzhou 2022 Games, both teams reached the podium this time around.
The women’s team settled for bronze while the men’s team lost the final against India to secure silver. Hasan Nawaz’s 96 gave Pakistan some hope, but he received very little support from the other end.
Shooting
Ghulam Mustafa Bashir won bronze in the men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol on October 1. He qualified sixth with 578 and held his nerve in the final.
It was Pakistan’s first shooting medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Games. This came after six of Pakistan’s nine shooters reportedly missed the competition because they could not get NOCs.
Other sports
Asim Khan won bronze in the men’s 60 kg modern MMA, beating Cambodia’s Sopanha Pheng. Additionally, the PUBG Mobile team also won a historic bronze medal.
For Pakistan, it was disappointing that Paris Olympics gold medalist Arshad Nadeem failed to reach the podium, despite a season-best throw of 80.29m.
