India are yet to win a track cycling medal at the Asian Games

India is sending a 14-member cycling contingent to the upcoming Asian Games 2026, which will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. The squad contains six men and eight women, who will take part in 10 medal events.

The team will compete across sprint, keirin, pursuit, omnium, and Madison events, aiming to secure India’s first-ever track cycling medal at the continental tournament. Indian cyclists had a challenging campaign at Hangzhou 2023, failing to clinch any medal, but have enjoyed a steady rise in the last few years.

Ronaldo Laitonjam Singh, who is the first Indian to win an Asian Cycling Championships medal, is India’s best chance at a maiden cycling medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

David Beckham Elkatohchoongo finished eighth in the men’s sprint at the Hangzhou Games, marking India’s best cycling result at the continental tournament so far. Three-time Asia Cup silver medallist Harshveer Sekhon is another strong medal contender.
