Asian Games 2026: Full list of sports, events that won't be shown live in India
Out of 43 disciplines, only 26 will be telecast live for viewers across the subcontinent
The Asian Games 2026 have begun amid several logistical and accommodation issues, something one would not expect from one of the world’s most prestigious multi-sport events. Athletes should ideally be welcomed with world-class facilities by the host city.
Aichi-Nagoya is hosting the Games for the first time, but the organisation so far has left much to be desired, to say the least.

India began its Asian Games 2026 campaign on September 17 with teqball, held at the Nagoya City Higashi Sports Centre. The sport is making its debut in the quadrennial event, and India is represented by three athletes in the event.
So quite naturally, there was plenty of curiosity among fans eager to watch the new sport in action. However, much to their disappointment, the discipline was not being covered on SonyLIV or the Sony Sports network.

As it turns out, teqball is one of the 15 sports that will not have any live coverage throughout the Asian Games, with live streaming and telecast unavailable for these disciplines.
Another sport that got underway on September 17 is modern pentathlon. India will not have any representation in the event, and the sport will also not be streamed live for fans to follow the action.

Some of the other notable sports that will not be streamed or telecast live include golf and wushu. Golf will be a big miss for Indian fans, as Aditi Ashok leads a six-member squad in Aichi-Nagoya.
Wushu will also feature strong Indian participation, with a seven-member contingent led by two-time Asian Games medallist Naorem Roshibina Devi. The country has strong medal prospects in both these disciplines.
