This is Parul Chaudhary’s second medal at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025.

India’s Parul Chaudhary bagged a silver medal in the women’s 5000m race at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in Gumi, Republic of Korea. She clocked a time of 15:15.33 seconds to win her second medal in the competition.

Parul previously won the silver medal in the women’s 3000m final, clocking a time of 9:12.46 seconds to better her own National Record.

A total of 14 athletes competed in the women’s 5000m final on Saturday, May 31, in Gumi. Kazakhstan’s Norah Jeruto Tanui clinched the gold medal, clocking a time of 14:58.71 seconds. She set a new Competition Record, bettering the previous best of 15:12.84 seconds held by UAE’s Desalegn Betlhem, which was set during the 2013 edition of the Asian Athletics Championships in Pune.

The bronze medal was awarded to Japan’s Yuma Yamamoto, who completed the race in 15:16.86 seconds. Sanjivani Baburao Jadhav, the other Indian athlete in the fray, finished fifth in the women’s 5000m final. She clocked a time of 15:36.40 seconds to set a new Season Best, surpassing 15:43.42 seconds. Jadhav missed out on setting a new Personal Best as she fell short by five seconds.

Kyrgyzstan’s Ainuska Kalil Kyzy was the only athlete who pulled out midway and did not finish the race.
