India clinched the silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay event at the Asian Games 2026 with a solid show, as Vithya Ramaraj provided an impressive anchor leg to help the team finish in second place.
Vishal TK started the race for India and passed the baton to Poovamma MR for the second leg. A strong late burst ensured India remained in the hunt with Manu TS taking the baton in third place.

Manu set the pace before Ramaraj took over, who produced a brilliant final leg to help India finish second. Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Nasser produced a great anchor leg to win gold for her country, leaving India with silver.
India’s Manu TS, Poovamma MR, Vishal TK and Vithya Ramaraj won the silver medal in the mixed 4x400m relay final at the Asian Games 2026 with a time of 3:14.46.
Bahrain won the gold in 3:12.87. The bronze medalists finished in 3:14.54. India’s brilliant performance in athletics saw the country add another medal to its count in the continental tournament.
Earlier, Seema Kumari of India had won bronze in women’s 10,000m. She was in the mix until the last stages as Winfred Yavi and Nozomi Tanaka fought for the top two spots.
Yavi clocked 32:29.18 for gold and Nozomi Tanaka of Japan took silver in 32:41.54. Seema Kumari bagged the bronze medal after clocking 32:50.05 in women’s 10,000m final.
