The National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2024 are poised to take place from June 27 to 30, at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana. The championships will serve as the final opportunity for the track and field athletes aiming to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024.

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) had made the 63rd edition of the tournament mandatory for Indian athletes targeting an upcoming Olympics berth. It is worth noting that the event ends on June 30 which is also the concluding day of the qualification window for the Paris Olympics.

Avinash Sable, Parul Chaudhary, Kishore Jena, Ram Baboo, Priyanka Goswami, Akshdeep Singh, and Vikas Singh are some of the prominent athletes to watch out for at the Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships 2024. Notably, these athletes have also achieved the Olympic qualification standards set for the Quadrennial Games.

Meanwhile, athletes like Annu Rani, Jeswin Aldrin, Manu DP, Abha Khatua, Jyothi Yarraji, and Praveen Chithravel will also be participating in the tournament. Although the athletes haven’t met the Olympic qualification mark yet, they are likely to qualify through World Athletics rankings route.

However, the event will provide a last chance to athletes like Commonwealth Games 2022 gold and bronze medalists Eldhose Paul and Tejaswin Shankar, and sprinter Amlan Borgohain to qualify for the Games by attaining the qualification mark.
