Doha Diamond League 2025 will start on Friday, May 16, at Suheim bin Hamad Stadium, marking the third leg of the 2025 Diamond League series. After two high-energy stops in China, the action now shifts west to Qatar with athletes arriving fresh from the recent World Relays.

With the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo just four months away, a host of world medallists are set to compete to sharpen their form on the road to Tokyo.

Which Indians are participating at Doha Diamond League 2025?

India is set to witness its highest-ever representation at a Diamond League event with four athletes competing at the Doha leg. The campaign is being led by Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra, who is returning to the Qatar Sports Club, where he won gold in 2023 and silver in 2024.

Joining him in the men’s javelin is Kishore Jena, who placed ninth last year. National record holder Parul Chaudhary will compete in the women’s 3000m steeplechase, while Gulveer Singh, national record holder in the men’s 5000m, will make his Diamond League debut.

Athletes to watch at Doha Diamond League 2025

The Doha Diamond League 2025 promises a star-studded lineup featuring at least seven Olympic champions. Sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce returns to Doha for the first time since her 100m win in 2021.

Neeraj Chopra returns for his third consecutive Doha appearance, chasing another podium alongside Olympic gold medallist Keshorn Walcott and World Champions Anderson Peters and Julius Yego.

The men’s high jump features a marquee battle between Olympic champions Hamish Kerr and Qatari hero Mutaz Barshim. The women’s steeplechase boasts all three Paris 2024 Olympic medallists—Winfred Yavi, Peruth Chemutai and Faith Cherotich shaping up to be a must-watch clash.

Making his Doha debut in the men’s 100m is 200m Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo, silver medallist at the 2023 World Championships. In the women’s pole vault, Paris 2024 silver and bronze medallists Katie Moon and Alysha Newman will join 2024 Diamond League winner Molly Caudery.

In Doha, athletes will compete in 14 Diamond League events, including eight in the men’s category and six in the women’s.
