The World Athletics Relays 2025 will be played in Guangzhou on May 10-11.
The World Athletics Relays 2025 in Guangzhou, China, which is set for May 10 and 11 at the Guangdong Olympic Stadium, will serve as a key qualifier for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September. India will be represented by a 14-member contingent competing in two events—the men’s and mixed 4x400m events.
The event will showcase six relay formats including the debut of the mixed 4x100m.The six exciting relay events are—men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m as well as mixed 4x100m and 4x400m races.

A total of 730 athletes from 43 countries are set to compete, with each nation allowed to enter one team per event and list up to eight athletes per team. The top 14 teams in each event—excluding the debuting mixed 4x100m—will earn direct qualification to the World Athletics Championships 2025 in Tokyo where 16 teams will compete in each relay.
The remaining two spots will be determined based on the top performance lists during the qualification window from February 25, 2024, to August 24, 2025.
