The Brothers of Destruction are the new face of Indian doubles.
From the likes of Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand to Jwala Gutta-Ashwini Ponnappa to the likes of PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal, badminton in India has been on the rise every decade. Satwik-Chirag has now taken up the mantle of carrying forward this revolution.
From smashing several records and rewriting history, the pair have come far and are the highest-ever ranked doubles pair in the country. Who would have thought this a few years ago?

But Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty made it a reality. Satwik-Chirag became the first Indian men’s doubles pair to be ranked World No. 1 in October 2023.
They have achieved so much in such a short period of time: multiple World Tour titles (including a Super 1000), six International Series/Challenge titles, a Commonwealth Games gold, an Asian Games gold, and two World Championships bronzes. They seem far from stopping anytime soon.
Also, after their success, India has witnessed many promising doubles pairs emerge. They have changed the future of doubles in India.
