Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty achieve their career-best ranking of WR 4 in Men’s Doubles

The pair have been on a roll this year.
India's number one men's doubles badminton pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty achieve their career best ranking of world number 4 in released by BWF (Badminton World Federation) on Tuesday (May 30th). The Badminton Asia Championships gold medallist are on an upward surge and last week achieved their joint best ranking (WR 5) and within a week's time have jumped ahead to their career best rank.
Malaysia Masters 2023 gold medallist, HS Prannoy, jumped a spot above to claim the eighth spot and sits pretty inside the top 10 in men's singles. There were no major changes in the women's section with the top two singles players PV Sindhu (WR 13) and Saina Nehwal (WR 36) regaining their respective spots from the previous week.
Meanwhile, Viktor Axelson from Denmark topped the men's singles chart and was followed Ginting and Naraoka in the top 3. Viktor recently got injured during the Sudirman Cup quarter-finals tie and is sidelined for few weeks. Aya Ohori was the major gainer in the women's singles (inside top 50) jumping five spots ahead to WR 23.
The action now shifts to Thailand and all the top shuttlers will be participating in the Thailand Open (BWF 500) to gain valuable Olympic ranking points.
