Three-time winner Saina Nehwal will give the tournament a miss.

The Indian contingent had a below-average outing at the Singapore Open 2023 last week with none of the players progressing to the quarter-finals. Only three players (individual/pair) progressed to the pre-quarterfinals of the BWF 750 tournaments, but concluded their stay with straight game exits. Malaysia Masters winner and WR 8 HS Prannoy will look to get back to form after losing in the opening round last week.

Seventh-seeded men's doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost in the opening rounds of the previous two tournaments (Thailand Open and Singapore Open). After a successful campaign at the Badminton Asia Championships, the pair is yet to find form. Young women's doubles pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be the lone Indian pair in the category.
