Indonesia Open 2023 Quarter-Finals Summary

Men's Singles

China's Li Shi Feng continued his fine run in the Indonesia Open 2023 with a three-game win over Kidambi Srikanth of India. The Chinese won the quarter-final clash in men's singles 21-14, 14-21, 21-12. In the other quarter-final on Court 1, World No. 1 Viktor Axelsen made lightwork of Taipei's Chou Tien Chen 21-5, 21-19 in just 39 minutes.

Seventh-seeded Indian HS Prannoy and home favourite Anthony Sinisuka Ginting also advanced to the semis with straight-game wins. While Prannoy saw off Japan's Kodai Naraoka 21-18, 21-16 in about an hour, Ginting beat Denmark's Jonatan Christie 21-19, 21-16 in 51 minutes.

Women's Singles

For a change, third-seed Tai Tzu Ying and Women's World No.1 Akane Yamaguchi bowed out from the quarter-finals stage with defeats to Carolina Marin and Ratchanok Intanon respectively. Spaniard Marin won against Taipei's Ying in straight games (21-18, 21-13), while Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand fought back from a game down to beat the Japanese 18-21, 25-23, 21-16.

In the other two quarter-finals in women's singles, second and fourth seeds An Se Young and Chen Yu Fei advanced. China's Chen Yu Fei defeated the unseeded Korean Kim Ga Eun 21-11, 21-19, while An Se Young made it to a ninth straight semis with a 21-18, 19-21, 21-11 win over the fifth-seed Chinese He Bing Jiao.
