Taipei Open 2023 Quarter-Finals Summary
Indian top-ranked men's singles player HS Prannoy lost to fifth seed from Hong Kong (China) in straight games (19-21, 8-21) in the men's singles quarter-finals at the Taipei Open 2023. The loss also brought India's stay at the competition to end with all the shuttlers losing in the RO16 battles. In men's doubles the top seed from Malaysia Ong/Teo survived a scare against home pairing of Chih Lee/Jeng Lee but eventually won the battle in three games (15-21, 21-19, 21-17).
Women's top seed Tai Tzu Ying made it to the semi-finals with straight games win over sixth seed from Thailand Supanida Kathetong (21-16, 21-6). Fourth seed men's doubles pair from Chinese Taipei Jhe Huei/Po-Hsuan lost to higher seeded Malaysians Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee (19-21, 19-21)and cocluded the day's play.
