After a week's break the badminton action shifts to North America for the Canada Open (BWF 500) which is set to held in Markin-MacPhail Centre in Calgary. World's top ranked singles player Viktor Axelsen withdrew from the tournament as he needs complete recovery and training for the next few weeks. Nozomi Okuhara who returned back from injury few weeks back is once again back to action and subsequently gets the last seeding.
