Where and how to watch Korea Open 2023 in Malaysia?
Men's doubles World Champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are back to action post a brief break
Korea Open 2023 is going to be the fifth Super 500 event of the BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour 2023. Since this season, a BWF calendar year now has nine Super 500 events. Korea Open begins on the 18th of July, 2023, and will see the finals being played on the 23rd of July, 2023.
For Malaysia, Lee Zii Jia will be the only singles specialist-seeded player playing in the tournament. The 25-year-old has had a difficult season so far, where he has opened up about the mental exhaustion he has been going through and the need for a break. His best performance has come in the All England Open and the Swiss Open in the BWF World Tour 2023, wherein he reached the semi-finals of the two tournaments.
The seeded Malaysian pairs participating in the Korea Open are men's doubles specialists Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik (fourth-seed) and Teo Ee Yi/Ong Yew Sin (sixth-seed) and the mixed doubles pair of Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai (seventh-seed).
While Lee Zii Jia has a lot of catching up to do in the Road to Paris rankings, the men's doubles pairs are well placed to represent Malaysia in the quadrennial mega event. Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai also have to do better to get into the top 8.
