Full list of players who have withdrawn from Korea Open 2023
Six Indians so far have withdrawn from the tournament.
After the successful completion of the American leg, the BWF (Badminton World Federation) World Tour shifts back to Asia for the Korea Open 2023 - BWF 500 tournament. Several top players have registered themselves for the competition. Whereas, on the other hand, several have withdrawn from the tournament as well. Of all the countries taking part, India has the largest contingent in the withdrawal list with in-form Lakshya Sen giving the meet a miss.
After two successful weeks in Canada and USA, Lakhsya Sen, 21, will look to freshen up for the upcoming tours rather than take part in consecutive tours. He won the Canada Open title defeating All England champion Li Shi Feng and then in the following week lost to the same opponent in the semi-finals of US Open. His compatriot Sameer Verma who hasn't featured in any BWF Tour for over a month also withdrew from the competition.
In the doubles section, India's third ranked Krishna Garaga/Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala withdrew after taking part in both the competitions in the American leg. Newly formed women's doubles pair, Ashwini Ponanppa/Tanisha Crasto alongside Panda sisters have withdrawn due to unforeseen reasons.
Apart from the Indians, top stars including former top 10 Nozomi Okuhara, Busanan Ongbumrungphan, Stoeva sisters to name a few have dropped out a day prior to the start of the Korea Open 2023.
