'You Guys are true fighters' - Disheartened PV Sindhu reacts after India's loss to Australia in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final

The badminton ace offered a message to support to the heartbroken fans and players.
Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has taken to X (Formerly Twitter) to express her thoughts on India’s loss in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. In a heartfelt message, Sindhu thanked the Indian men’s cricket team for the moments fans will “never forget”. She stated, “The perfect World Cup ending wasn’t to be — heartbreaking for 1.4 billion.”
Sindhu subsequently commended the Indian team for their exceptional performance throughout the tournament. “The men in blue should be proud. In 7 weeks, you gave us moments I’ll never forget. You guys are true fighters. Take rest and come back strong. We’ll always support you with the same energy!!” She added.
She also congratulated the Australian cricket team and mentioned a message that David Warner passed on to her following her defeat in the quarterfinals of the Asian Games. The message alluded to Australia’s resilient mindset when competing in such momentous occasions.
PV Sindhu wrote, “Recalling a message David Warner left me after I lost the Asian Games quarters. He said, “Don’t be disheartened. The one Aussie lesson I can give you is to fight till the end; it’s all about mentality.” Truly reflected today. Congrats.”
Australia demonstrated a superior performance in the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, resulting in India’s defeat. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Indian were limited to 240 runs in 50 overs. Pat Cummins proved to be the standout bowler, claiming three wickets.
In reply, Australia with the help of a superb century by Travis Head achieved the target in 43 overs. Virat Kohli was adjudged the Player of the tournament for scoring 765 runs and Travis head was declared the Player of the match for his magnificent innings.
Mohammed Shami ended the campaign as the highest wicket-taker with 24 scalps in seven matches.
