The competition to secure spots at the BWF World Tour Finals 2023 has concluded with the top eight players or pairs in each category earning qualification for the season-ending event in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China. The badminton tournament is scheduled to take place from December 13 to 17.

Typically, these qualifiers consist of the top eight individuals or pairs in the Race to BWF World Tour Finals 2023 rankings determined after the conclusion of the China Masters on November 26. However, automatic qualification is granted to world champions and each nation is limited to a maximum of two players or pairs.

Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan

Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan from China made history as the first women’s pair to clinch four gold medals in the BWF World Championships women’s doubles final after their win in Copenhagen which automatically secured them a spot for the BWF World Tour Finals.

Surprisingly, despite competing in just 12 BWF World Tour tournaments, Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan topped the table by winning five titles in seven finals competed.

Their noteworthy achievement includes reaching the semifinals in eight out of the 16 events contested of which they were runners-up in Canada Open.

They continued with a runner-up finish at the Hylo Open 2023. In three subsequent tournaments thereafter, they reached the semifinals.
