Daiki Kajiwara records 100 successive wins in badminton men’s singles wheelchair

The Japanese International has won two Olympic medals in his short career.
Daiki Kajiwara of Japan recorded his 100 consecutive win in the badminton men’s singles wheelchair (WH2) post defeating compatriot Takumi Matsumoto in semifinals at 5th Fazza Dubai Para Badminton International 2023. The longetivity of the record began since winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics in his hometown.
Apart from just winning gold in men’s singles at the Olympics, the Japanese international further won bronze medal in the men doubles WH1–WH2 event partnering Hiroshi Murayama.
The 22-year-old to be precise has taken part in eight tournaments including the Hangzhou Asian Games this year excluding Dubai Para Badminton International. Kajiwara has stood first in all the tournaments in the singles department and furthermore reached the podium in doubles category in majority of the tournaments. He started the season in Europe at the Spanish International and will be concluding at the Dubai Para Badminton International 2023.
Furthermore, with his excellence in the sport at such a young age, Daiki Kajiwara, was bestowed with BWF Male Para Badminton Player of the Year in 2022. He had a dream season last year winning the World Championships and this time in front of his home fans. The Japanese also has won the Asian Youth Para Games in 2021.

From India’s point of view at the Dubai Para International 2023, experienced Pramod Bhagat has reached yet another final in SL-3 men’s singles. The Asian Games 2023 gold medallist is scheduled to take on Bethell for the title. The Canadian on the other hand has lost only one tournament this season and got the better of Nitesh in straight games in the semifinals.
In the men’s SL-4 category, Suhas Yathiraj will be up against Malaysia’s Mohd. Amin Burhanuddin.
