Prannoy’s ascendence comes after his semifinal finish at the India Open
The latest BWF rankings issued on Tuesday saw India’s men’s singles player HS Prannoy climb to his world No. 7. He is the only Indian men’s singles player in the top 10 at present.
Prannoy’s ascent in the rankings was a result of his sem-final appearance at the India Open 2024. However, he has to see 1st round exit in Malaysia Masters.

Meanwhile, India’s women’s doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto fell in ranking by one place to reach 21.
