List of all BWF World Tour Super 500 tournaments in 2024

Grade 2 of the Ranking System has nine tournaments for the 2023-26 cycle.

The BWF World Tour Super 500 tournaments are the Grade 2 (Level 4) of the BWF Tournament Ranking system. The 2024 Badminton edition will comprise 9 tournaments just like last year.

The 9 hosts will be Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, Korea, Hong Kong, Finland and Japan. However, Only 1 Super 500 tournament will be part of the Olympic Cycle this year which is Indonesia Masters.

Points Distribution in Super 500

At this level, the winners of these tournaments will receive 9,200 ranking points. The runners-up will be awarded 7,800 points and the semifinal finishers will get 6,420 points.

List of all the events

January 24 – January 29: Indonesia Masters

The inaugural Super 500 tournament will take place at the Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta from January 23 to January 28. It will be the third tournament of the 2023 BWF World Tour. Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy are the only Indians to win the tournament in 2019 and 2014 respectively.

May 14 – May 19: Thailand Open

The second Super 300 tournament will take place in Bangkok, Thailand from May 14 to May 19. Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth, Sai Praneeth, and Satwik/Chirag are the only Indians to win the tournament.

May 21 – May 26: Malaysia Masters

The third Super 500 tournament will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from May 21 to May 26. HS Prannoy is the defending champion while PV Sindhu (twice) and Saina Nehwal are the other Indians to win the tournament.

June 11 – June 16: Australia Open

The fourth Super 500 tournament of the season will take place in Sydney, Australia from June 11 to June 16. Saina Nehwal (twice) and Srikanth Kidambi are the only Indians to win the tournament

July 2 – July 7: Canada Open

The fifth Super 500 tournament of the season will take place in Calgary, Canada from July 2 to July 7. Lakshya Sen is the defending champion while Sai Praneeth, Jwala/Ashwini and Manu/Sumeeth are the other Indians to win the tournament.

August 27 – September 1: Korea Open

The sixth Super 500 tournament of the season will take place in Seoul, South Korea from August 27 to September 1. Satwik/Chirag are the defending champions while PV Sindhu is the other Indian to win the tournaments.

September 10 – September 15: Hong Kong Open

The seventh Super 500 tournament of the season will take place in Hong Kong from September 10 to September 15. Prakash Padukone and Saina Nehwal are the only Indian to win the tournament in 1982 and 2010 respectively.

October 8 – October 13: Arctic Open

The penultimate Super 500 tournament of the season will take place in Vantaa, Finland from October 8 to October 13. No Indians have ever won the Artic Open.

September 12 – September 17: Japan Masters

The final Super 500 tournament of the season will take place in Kumamoto, Japan from September 12 to September 17. This will be the second edition of Japan Masters. In the inaugural edition the host Japan failed to win any title.
