As a BWF Super 500 event, the Korea Open 2025 will feature top international stars, although several high-profile withdrawals have reshaped the draws. Sindhu (India), Gregoria Mariska Tunjung (Indonesia), and Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik (Malaysia), opening opportunities for emerging talents to make their mark.
Among the marquee names still competing, An Se-young, the World No. 1 and reigning World and Olympic Champion from Korea, headlines the women’s singles draw. Men’s singles will see strong contenders like Anders Antonsen (Denmark), Li Shifeng (China), fresh off his Hong Kong Open 2025 triumph, and Kim-Seo (Korea), who captured the China Masters 2025 title last week.
In the doubles categories, the men’s doubles draw features top pairs such as Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang (China), while the women’s doubles field will be led by China’s Jia Yifan/Chen Qingchen. Mixed doubles promises exciting matchups with Malaysia’s Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei returning as defending champions.
India will field a limited but notable contingent, led by Ayush Shetty, Prannoy H.S., and Kiran George in men’s singles, Anupama Upadhyaya in women’s singles, and Mohit Jaglan/Lakshita Jaglan in mixed doubles.
With defending champions in all categories back to defend their titles, aside from the withdrawals, fans can expect thrilling battles, fierce competition, and a chance to see rising stars challenge the established hierarchy.
