The final round of the BWF World Tour Finals 2024 will be played on December 15 (Sunday) that will decide the year-end winners in the badminton tour. The BWF World Tour Finals 2024 started on December 11 with the group stages. Now after four days of intense action across all five categories, it is time to decide the winners.

This edition will see a first-time winner in women’s singles, women’s doubles and men’s doubles categories. Some shuttlers are also making their maiden appearance in the final round of the year-end badminton tournament. Meanwhile, legendary mixed doubles pair and reigning Olympic champions, Zheng Si Wei and Huang Ya Qiong will eye a hat-trick of titles at the BWF World Tour Finals.

Meanwhile, in men’s singles both finalists, Shi Yuqi and Anders Antonsen are former winners of the year-end tournament. While current World No. #1 Shi Yuqi won the inaugural edition of the BWF World Tour Finals in 2018, Danish Antonsen lifted the title in 2020. The Danish WR #2 will hope to keep the title at home in the absence of the defending three-time champion Viktor Axelsen.

The World No. #1 will not be in action in women’s singles after getting knocked out in the semis. An Se Young went down to China’s Wang Zhi Yi in stunning fashion. Both Wang Zhi Yi and Han Yue of China will eye their maiden crown at the BWF World Tour Finals. With both Chinese shuttlers reach the title match, this is the first time since Chen Yu Fei in 2019 that the women’s singles title will be won by a Chinese.

It is similar scenario in men’s doubles where the pair of Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen and Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin are looking to lift their first-ever title. While Kim/Anders are aiming to become the first Danish pair to win the men’s doubles title at the BWF World Tour Finals, Goh/Nur will hope to be the first shuttlers from Malaysia to top the podium at the year-end event.
