As many as eight Indian shuttlers, including PV Sindhu and Ayush Shetty, will be in action on Day 4 of the BWF World Championships 2026.
India’s day will start with Treesa/Gayatri taking on seventh seeds Rin Iwanaga/Kie Nakanishi of Japan, while the day will end with Satwik-Chirag opening their campaign in the round of 16.
India’s top men’s doubles pair will hope to start their journey today after receiving a walkover in the previous round. Satwik–Chirag will be in action against Malaysia’s Junaidi Arif/Roy King Yap.
Meanwhile, PV Sindhu will face third seed Wang Zhi Yi of China for a place in the quarter-finals in what should be a thrilling contest.
The ninth seeded Sindhu defeated Canada’s Zhang Wen Yu 21-16, 21-17 in women’s singles second round, while Ayush needed just 26 minutes to pack off Sri Lanka’s Dumindu Abeywickrama 21-8, 21-10 to advance to the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals.
Ayush will face Indonesia’s 11th seed Alwi Farhan.
