China’s Shi Yqui and Chen Yufei will enter the tournament as the defending champions.

The BWF Indonesia Open 2025, a Super 1000 event, is set to electrify Jakarta from June 3 to 8 at the iconic Istora Senayan. Despite a number of high-profile withdrawals, the tournament retains its stature as one of badminton’s premier events.

With Viktor Axelsen withdrawing due to surgery and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung missing from the women’s draw, this edition of the Indonesia Open is also a chance for rising stars and second-seeded players to shine.

The BWF Super 1000 tournament will feature world-class talent across all five categories. From established legends like Shi Yuqi and Chen Yufei to rising forces like Kunlavut Vitidsarn and Tomoka Miyazaki, the tournament promises world-class badminton at every turn.

Here are the top 10 players to watch in the BWF Indonesia Open 2025:

While not the first pair that comes to mind, Gayatri and Treesa are dark horses in this category. They have proved it before by reaching the semi-finals of the All England Open in 2025 and also made it to the quarters in March this year. Thus, India’s hopes in this category will lie with this pair.
