PV Sindhu aims to return to top form ahead of the Olympics.
The spotlight in the badminton world now shifts to Kuala Lumpur as the Malaysia Masters 2024 begins. The BWF Super 500 tournament on the BWF World Tour circuit is highly anticipated, with the Paris Olympics drawing closer.
PV Sindhu will be leading India’s campaign. After making a successful return from injury at the Badminton Asia Team Championships in February, where Sindhu guided Team India to Gold, the two-time Olympic medallist is now setting her sights on securing her third Olympic medal.

The Malaysia Masters presents an opportunity for her to regain her form as the Paris Olympics draw near in a few months.
Sindhu faces Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour in her first-round match. In men’s singles, India will be without the services of star players like HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen, who are not part of the tournament.
The world number #1, Viktor Axelsen, will eye his maiden 2024 BWF World Tour title at the Malaysia Masters. This year hasn’t been particularly favourable for the reigning Olympic gold medallist, who seeks redemption in this tournament.
In women’s singles, the number #1 seed, Han Yue, will be striving to reach the top of the podium after her recent runners-up finish, where she lost to home favourite Supanida Katethong in the final of the Thailand Open last week.
