The 34th edition of the BWF China Open is being played from July 22 to July 27 at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou, Jiangsu. The first-round matches are scheduled for the first two days, while the later rounds begin on July 24.

Since it’s a BWF Super 1000 tournament, the top tier on the BWF World Tour, the biggest stars in the world are set to participate in the competition. The likes of Shi Yu Qi, Liu Sheng Shu-Tan Ning, and Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin, who were all victorious in the Japan Open, will enter as hot favourites in their home tournament, while Koreans An Se-young, Kim Won Ho, and Seo Seung Jae will also look to continue their blistering form.

The Indian contingent will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing campaign last week. The likes of Lakshya SenPV Sindhu, and Chirag ShettySatwiksairaj Rankireddy will look to make amends after early exits in Tokyo. HS Prannoy‘s return will be a boost, although his form continues to be a cause of concern.

The withdrawals of Treesa Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand and Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto will significantly weaken India’s presence in the Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories.
