Sindhu has won 500 matches from 732 career appearances in her career.
PV Sindhu and Indian badminton have always gone hand in hand. Whenever the sport needs a moment to celebrate, Sindhu somehow finds a way to deliver. And on Thursday at the Indonesia Masters 2026, she did it once again.
The two-time Olympic medallist defeated Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt of Denmark 21-19, 21-18 and achieved a special record by becoming the first Indian player ever to register 500 career match wins.
Sindhu is now only the sixth women’s singles player in the world to achieve the feat joining the elite club that includes Ratchanok Intanon, Tai Tzu Ying, Akane Yamaguchi, Carolina Marin, and Petya Nedelcheva.
The victory sent the Indian star to the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters and extended her head-to-head record against the Dane to 5-1.
As of now, Sindhu has played a total of 732 matches in her career, giving her a win rate of 68.3 percent. On the BWF Tour alone, she has played 683 matches and won 456 of them.
Sindhu already led the chart as India’s most successful women’s singles player in terms of career victories surpassing former world No. 1 Saina Nehwal’s tally of 446 wins.

While the records keep telling stories of her greatness, Sindhu is still searching for her next title. Her most recent moment of glory came at the Syed Modi International in December 2024. Before that, she last lifted a trophy at the Singapore Open in July 2022.
The journey full of setbacks for past few years saw her sustain a knee injury that affected her 2023 season, but she made a strong comeback in late 2024 and early 2025. But could not end the title drought.
The former world champion started the 2026 season with a strong run at the Malaysia Open 2026 earlier this month where she reached the semi-finals before losing to China’s Wang Zhiyi.
She then suffered a first-round exit at the India Open 2026 going down in three games against Vietnam’s Nguyễn Thùy Linh on home soil.
Now, Sindhu faces another major challenge as she prepares to take on world No. 4 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallist Chen Yu Fei in the quarterfinals in Jakarta.
