PV Sindhu has not played a match since Paris Olympics 2024.
PV Sindhu is set to make her much awaited comeback to the BWF tour in October. She will be playing her first match since the Paris Olympics 2024. Sindhu is expected to feature in the Arctic Open 2024 in Vantaa, Finland. The BWF super 500 series event will see Sindhu leading the Indian charge in women’s singles.
Sindhu was last seen in Paris while losing the fourth round clash to China’s He Bing Jiao in straight games on August 1. It has been almost 2 months since the top Indian shuttler was seen on the court. Fans will anticipate an inspiring return of Sindhu in Finland during the Arctic Open.
The two-time Olympic medallist had reached the semi-finals of the Arctic Open in 2023. She defeated Vietnamese Thuy Linh Nguyen in marathon quarterfinals which lasted for an hour and 31 minutes. In the semi-finals, Sindhu lost to China’s Wang Zhi Yi in yet another enduring encounter which went on for an hour and three minutes in Vantaa Energia Arena – 1.
Sindhu will also be in action with her new coach, Anup Sridhar. The former Indian shuttler was ranked No. 37 in 2010 in men’s singles and had coached Lakshya Sen for a short period of time. His inclusion in her squad could enforce a positive result for Sindhu who is yet to win a title this season.
