Sindhu wins second title of the season
The HYLO Open victory marks Sindhu’s second BWF World Tour title of the season, following her triumph at the Japan Open in July, where she defeated Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in the final.
The Indian entered the tournament as the second seed and enjoyed a dominant campaign, winning all her matches in straight games without dropping a single game.
She began with a comfortable victory over Prakriti Bharath before defeating France’s Rosy Oktavia Pancasari to reach the quarter-finals. Sindhu then overcame Denmark’s Amalie Schulz to book her place in the last four.
An all-Indian semi-final against young compatriot Anmol Kharb followed, with Sindhu winning 21-13, 21-16 to secure her place in the final.
Her victory in Germany comes just a week after she finished runner-up at the French Open, where she lost to South Korea’s An Se Young.
The back-to-back final appearances, followed by the HYLO Open title, give Sindhu valuable momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. The victory also earns her 9,200 BWF ranking points, strengthening her position in the race to qualify for the season-ending World Tour Finals.
