PV Sindhu visited Tirupati Tirumala temple on Wednesday.

Two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu recently visited the Tirupati Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh on April 17 (Wednesday).

News agency ANI uploaded a video of the 28-year-old on their social media accounts, where she can be seen walking out of the Tirupati Tirumala temple. Here is the video:

PV Sindhu is currently 14th in the BWF Women’s singles rankings. Last month, she was ranked 12th; however, due to a series of inconsistent performances and fitness concerns, the 2016 Olympics silver medalist has fallen in the pecking order.

Moreover, PV Sindhu was sidelined for three months after she suffered a left knee injury in October 2023. She made her comeback in February earlier this year, when she defeated China’s Yue Han in the Badminton Asia Team Championships. However, the Indian shuttler has given below-par performances since her return.

This year, PV Sindhu has participated in the women’s singles event of five different tournaments. She has managed to reach the quarterfinals of the French Open and the Spain Masters while she has been eliminated in the second round of the Badminton Asia Championships, All-England Open and the Swiss Open.

The Indian badminton star has also faced the likes of WR1 An Se Young and WR2 Chen Yufei in her recent fixtures. However, she has only lost against the top ranks in those matches. Nevertheless, she would be looking forward to gaining momentum ahead of the 2024 Olympics, scheduled to take place on July 26.

Sindhu has mathematically qualified for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, however, the official announcement will be made after 28 April. She will be India’s only representative in the women’s singles category and her current form is a topic of concern for all Indian badminton enthusiasts. Apart from Sindhu, HS Pronnoy and Lakshya Sen have also mathematically qualified for the sporting mega fest in the men’s singles event.
