BWF Singapore Open 2025: All you need to know about prize money & points on offer

The total prize pool of Singapore Open 2025 is USD 1,000,000.
The 74th edition of the BWF Singapore Open is being played from May 27 to June 1 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. The first-round matches were played on the first two days, while further round matches began on May 29.
Since this is a BWF Super 750 event, the biggest names in the world badminton circuit are currently participating in the tournament. The top five players in the BWF rankings in all sections, barring the mixed doubles event, are all part of the draw.
The likes of An Se Young, Wang Zhi Yi, Shi Yu Qi, Kunlavut Vitidsarn, Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin, Kim Astrup/Anders Rasmussen, Liu Shen Shu/Tan Ning, Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee, Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet, Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jamie are vying for a top of the podium finish, in their respective categories.
The Indian contingent is full-strength after a long time. The men’s singles event consists of Olympians Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy, along with talented youngsters Priyanshu Rajawat and Kiran George.
Two-time Olympics bronze medallist PV Sindhu will be looking to get back her form in the women’s singles section, where she will be accompanied by Unnati Hooda, Aakarshi Kashyap, Malvika Bansod, Anmol Kharb, Rakshitha Ramraj and Anupama Upadhyaya.

Much to the joy of fans around the world, the tournament sees the return of unarguably India’s finest doubles pairing ever—Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty. Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, who are the only seeded Indians in the competition, also make a comeback after a long layoff and are joined by Kavipriya Selvam/Simran Singhi, Vaishnavi Khadekar/Alisha Khan and Amrutha Pramuthesh/Sonali Singh.
The pairing of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto lead the pack in the mixed doubles section, with the draw also including two other pairs in the form of Rohan Kapoor/Ruthvika Shivani Gadde and Ashith Surya/Amrutha Pramuthesh.

As mentioned above, points are awarded as per all Super 750 events. The winner will get 11,000 points, while the runner-up will get 9,350 points.
Players reaching the semi-finals will get 7,700 points, while players losing in the quarterfinals will get 6,050 points. A second-round finish assures a player/pair of 4,320, while a first-round loss will mean 2,660 points.

According to BWF rules, the total prize pool for the Singapore Open 2025 is USD 1,000,000. The winners in both singles categories will receive USD 70,000, while their counterparts in the doubles event will get USD 74,000. The runners-up in the singles events will take home USD 34,000, while those in the doubles will receive USD 35,000. The losing semi-finalists in all five categories will obtain USD 14,000.
In the individual events, an amount of USD 5,500 is reserved for the players who lose in the quarterfinals, while in the doubles category, the losers will get USD 6,250. In case of a second-round defeat, the sum on offer in the singles sections is USD 3,000, while the pairings in the three doubles categories will pocket USD 3,250.
Every participant in the main draw receives a portion of the prize fund, implying even first-round losers will not leave empty-handed. Each player/pair, as applicable, suffering defeat in the first round takes home USD 1,000.
