The BWF Taipei Open 2024 will be starting soon as the players around the world will get ready for five days of extreme battles. The qualifiers will be beginning from September 3 as the main draw will be finalised as soon as the qualifiers get over. The BWF world tour 300 series event will go on till September 8.

The top seed in the men’s singles draw is four-time champion Chou Tien-chen of Chinese Taipei. He will be joining fellow countrymen, Lin Chun-yi and Wang Tzu-wei. The top five seeds in the men’s singles draw are from Chinese Taipei.

Meanwhile in the women’s singles main draw, Five-time champion Tai Tzu-ying is leading the charge. She has been undefeated in the event since 2022. The second seed is PV Sindhu who will be playing her first match since the Paris Olympics 2024. The Indian will look to win her first title of the season. Third seed Hsu Wen-chi will be joined by Sung Shuo-yun and Pai Yu-po.

The Indians will finally get to see Sindhu in action. She will be joined by a few other players who will hope to deliver a successful result. The BWF Taipei Open saw an Indian winning a title for the first time in 2008 as Saina Nehwal lifted the trophy in women’s singles. A year later, Jwala Dutta and Valiyaveetil Diju won the title in mixed doubles.

The BWF Taipei Open 2024 will see the Indian squad led by Sindhu eyeing a historic performance. There will be five qualifier matches involving Indians as the rest of them will be getting a direct entry with their rankings.
